I just moved into the Washington D.C. area for a job assignement in Manassas, VA. So far, the area is nice, but I am having a little trouble in locating a place to live that doesn't charge a ton to live there. Maybe it's the cheap rent from TX talking that I have to get over.

Anyways, I am a single guy looking for an apartment complex probably between DC and Manassas. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good place?

Also, what are some fun things to do here? So far I have worked all day and gone to the gym in the evening and haven't had a chance to explore any of the area. Do the DC Aggies have happy hours or GWP's? Any good bars, clubs, restaurants, etc that I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Get in touch with the local A&M club - they have great activities and can help you with any questions.

Also, the Texas State Society is a good resource.

And IIRC The State Society folks throws a pretty strong father's day party; and you don't even have to be a father to show up

Again, the Aggie club. Besides their own teams, I'm sure people know of the other leagues.
