I will be spending my summer there, with the potential to get hired on full-time and wonder if anyone has any thoughts about a conservative Texan's chances of long-term survival there.

I guess nothing in specific. I have been in New Hampshire for almost a year now, so I suppose I understand New England culture. I guess I am fishing for people's general impressions on what the people are like in Hartford, things to do (I will bring along a wife and daughter), and good places to eat.

It is an internship, but it is likely they will give me a full-time offer unless I screw something up, so I wanted to get people's thoughts on settling down there, at least for a few years.
