Any of you guys and gals know of any good realtors or places to live from Pittsburgh south toward Morgantown WV on the I-79 corridor? Moving up there from Houston and looking for a place for the wife and I.

rooster, I live in Morgantown. Not much help with realtors, but there are a few nice little towns in Greene county. Washington seems ok, if a little "dingy"...

I have traveled there a bit over the last few months and really like the area. Morgantown is a nice town and I like Washington and Canonsburg as well.

Thanks AC...I guess I'll have to come down and swap some homebrew. I did like Morgantown, but the rib would like to be a bit closer to Pittsburg which puts Canonsburg in a pretty good place and Washington pretty close as well. Maybe the company's moving outfit will have some suggestions as they are supposed to help out with the move, closing costs, and perhaps the sale of the old house. Thanks for the advice.

I lived in Canonsburg, PA for 6 months. I was there from March through September of 2010. I have since moved to Tulsa but Canonsburg was alright. I lived at Parkside Estates apartments on Ketchum Court. They were pretty nice, quiet apartments and they have a small gym and a pool. Where are you going to be working? I'm asking because the tunnel to get to Pittsburgh from I79 can get backed up during rush hour so you might want to consider that. Overall, I enjoyed my short time up there and only left because I got a promotion which forced me to move. Canonsburg has a bar called Jays which is pretty cool. It overlooks a hockey rink which is where the Pittsburgh Penguins practice. If you aren't a hockey fan, get ready to start liking it because that is all they will talk about up there. You can't go 5 minutes without someone mentioning the Penguins or the Steelers. If you have any questions, let me know and I will try my best to help.

Luckily I won't be going in to Pittsburgh for work, but the wife may end up trying to find something there. She is afraid we might live somewhere too rural and she won't have anyone to do anything with(note she hasn't seen the state to realize most is pretty rural). I'm also one of the strange Texans that does enjoy hockey, so I should be good to go up there. Thanks for the advice, and I'll let you know if I have any more questions.
