I'm from New Hampshire and have only met one other person from New England in 3 months. I've seen a few license plates from NY and NJ in the parking lots and while driving around campus, but none from any state further northeast. I'm just trying to see if there's anyone else in College Station who might have gone to my last school (the University of New Hampshire) or lived near me back home. Just curious, does anyone know someone who goes here who's from that area of the country?

I remember meeting at least a half a dozen New Englanders when I was a freshman (back in 94). At the time, I remember many of them saying that out of state tuition at A&M was cheaper than in state tuition where they were from. I would be surprised if that were still the case, though.

Nope, it's still the same. In-state tuition in NH is more than $13,000, and out-of-state is over $26,000. That doesn't even take into account room-and-board or meal money. Add more than $2000/yr if you're a grad student, too. Keep in mind this is for the state's official public university. I've got some friends who went to Northeastern and have just under $200,000 in student loans from 4 years as undergrads. Needless to say, the cost of education is soooo much cheaper down here.

Yep, one of my fish was from New Hampshire. He plays on A&M's hockey team.

Well I am from Maine and went to A&M but that was SEVERAL years ago!

There weren't too many New Englanders around in my day and most of the ones I met were grad students on an Ag School or Vet college scholarship.

Class of '05 and recently moved to CT. Haven't seen any Ags out here thus far...

I have fond memories of the merry-go-round at the Danbury Mall. Much of my family lives in Wallingford.

I will probably be living in the Greenwich/Stamford area for 6 months starting in February.

My memories of that property pre-date the mall...that's the site of the old fair grounds.

BTW, I was born in Bridgeport but grew up in Sandy Hook...graduated from Newtown High way too many years ago.

I recently moved to Fairfield but work up in Hartford. Ct's a great place but it's not home.

I just left CT, but was up there for about 9 years. The CT A&M Club has a facebook page. (I don't have the link here, but will update it later.)

It hasn't historically been a very active club, but does get together for football games. I know a group of them went to the A&M/UCONN basketball game a few weeks ago.

For those in Southern CT the NYC club is very active.

My fiancé is from new Hartford, ct. I wish I could find a job up in ct. We love up there.

Wow, that's about three miles from where I grew up...on Toddy Hill Road.

I enjoyed growing up there. If you get a chance, drive up Rte 7 to Litchfield County in the fall. Check out Kent Falls too. Hope you close your offer!

I'm in College Station and I've got family in Webster, NH. Visit them as often as possible, I love it up there. Applied for a few jobs in Cambridge MA, but finding work in either of my fields is rather difficult in New England. I'd move there in a heartbeat.
