I'm moving to Breckenridge to be a ski instructor for kids on December 4th and I still don't have a place to live!

I'm willing to live with guys and/or girls and will gladly even sleep on the floor

My budget is no more than $500 with utilities included... ski instrutors are definitely not millionaires!

Please let me know if you know of anything or have any friends looking for roomies.

I'm an adult alpine instructor at Breckenridge, what questions do you have?

I'm trying to find some "independent" lessons for my wife when we vacation up to Breckenridge in February. I don't know how rare it is or whatever - really just would like someone other than me to spend a couple of hours with her on the bunny slopes teaching her the basics - something informal even. I understand the resort has a robust list of available lessons, but those prices are well beyond what I can pay. In a nutshell, if I can't get my wife to have a good time, then my days of skiing could be few and far between

I'm sure you're not allowed to if you're employed by the mountain, but there has to be some way

Legally there aren't "independent" instructors, it violates Forest Service rules and can get you in big trouble.

Adult group lesson for beginners including a lift ticket is $139. Just a lift ticket at Breck is $111 right now. So, I don't think it's that bad of a deal. Don't forget to tip your instructors...

Who would you recommend going through for private lessons? That's a lot better than what I had thought. I remember seeing some for on the upwards of $400, but I must have been looking in the wrong place.

Private lessons are around $400 for half days and $700 for full days. The rate I posted was for group lessons. You could do a semi private lesson called an ultimate 4 for around $222 for a full day and it includes lunch. This has maximum of 4 guests and 1 instructor. The trick with this is that when scheduled and she is the only person there wanting first time lessons she will be the only person in the lesson. I can get you the number for the product sales office if you like. You cannot request a specific instructor unless yyou schedule a private lesson.

Ok, yeah - I guess I was looking at the private lessons then. Yeah, we'll probably have to go the group way and hope it's not too crowded. Do you know about typically how many there will be in a group? We'll be signing up on a Monday - I assume that would give us a better chance to have a smaller group.

Mondays will have a good chance of having a small group unless it's a holiday such as Presidents day or spring break. I had a group yesterday of first timers and there were 4 in the group lesson. Hope this has been helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.

If you don't mind, could you pass along the number I should call? Wish we could request you and have an Ag doing the lessons! We'll be planning on scheduling a group lesson on the morning of Monday, February 20th.

I'm guessing a half day is 9am-noon? Meet on the base of Peak 8 or 9?

The number for product sales is 970-496-7251. The 20th is presidents day, the busiest ski day of the year especially at Breck. I'm probably working that day so if it works out I'm scheduled for beginners I'll see you then. I'm on peak 8, but either peak 8 or 9 works.
