Anyone live in the Quad Cities area? I'm looking at a job at John Deere in Moline, IL, and just wanted to know what your thoughts were on the area.

I lived in Rock Island for the past year and we really enjoyed the area. I moved right after graduation to work for Nestle Purina. I think I really loved the area because of my friends i made at work, there is't much to do but it is a safe and downtown can get a lot of fun. there are a ton of colleges in the area so it made it fun going out.

I couldn't stand the cold and snow for 4 months out of the year. but it was it was great to experience the true four seasons. If you were to buy i would recommend Bettendorf IA, much better resale value IMO. were ou looking for any othet info?

Yes, that's helpful info. I've now heard several people say Bettendorf is the place to be in that area.

What division are you going into?

Legal-potentially. Still don't know yet whether it will pan out.

I spent a good chunk of my life in that area on the Iowa side.

If choosing anywhere to live in Iowa, I would suggest Eldridge, Pleasant Valley, or Bettendorf.

However, if I was working in Moline, I would probably choose the Illinois side. Not because the time to make the trip from those Iowa cities is that long, but I swear that 1 of those bridges (80, 74, Arsenal, or the other one that I don't remember) is always getting worked on, and bridge traffic can be a problem.

However, that is my memory on the subject. It might be completely wrong, but worth asking about if you get the opportunity.
