I'll be flying into Nashville on 10/5 to meet up with my Dad and drive to the Ole Miss game. Looking for a couple good BBQ spots to hit in Nashville. Location relative to the airport isn't too important. Just looking for the best spots. TIA

Don't know how much time you have, but check out this site. It lists most places Fierre (sp) has been and I know he has his several BBQ places. Expect pork... and ribs. Not much beef or sausage.

we been here three months, and have found some ok places, but nothing incredible. Beef here is ok, but the pork is good in general.

I second 90 bull's comment. We've been here a little over two months and haven't had anything totally spectacular but there are some good spots. Hog Heaven by Centennial Park is good, and B&C Melrose BBQ in 12th South is pretty good as well.

I'm stranded in Nashville for a wedding and wondered if anyone knew if any place that might be showing the game today. No FSN in hotel. Thanks!

a little late, but this year the game watching parties are at Cool Springs Brewery on Cool Springs just west of 65.

Nashville is really not that great on the BBQ front. The only two worth visiting are Whitt's and Hog Heaven, and neither is impressive.

A few alternatives:

1. Puckett's grocery.
2. Anything in Hillsboro Village (Jackson's/McDougal's/Pizza Perfect)
3. Flying Saucer.

Good luck.

Thanks, KY AG. I'm sure anything will be better than what I come across as BBQ in Colorado.

Go to Jack's Famous Bar-B-Que!!!

It is downtown right on Broadway Street.

From the front entrance, you can see all the bar/honkie-tonks, LP Field (TN Titans) & Predators (NHL) Arena.

VERY GOOD FOOD! You also get the "downtown experience."

We stopped in at B&C Melrose and Stonehouse Q. Both were average. The grits at B&C were pretty damn good. Pulled pork was good, brisket was not. Had some spares and baby backs at Stonhouse. The baby backs were above average, but the spares had way too much smoke on them.

Wish I'd have seen this sooner. About 30 minutes west of Nashville on US 70 is the town of White Bluff. There's a small place there called Carl's Perfect Pig. They have some of THE BEST baby backs anywhere. The fried catfish is good too. Plates are served with choice of sides and some really good corn cakes. Emeril Lagasse has been there and was blown away. Carl's been in business for 24 years and walked away from a career to tend to his BBQ.

One of the bad things about Tennessee is a lack of respect for brisket. NO ONE makes any decent brisket around here. It's usually pork or chicken in the BBQ joints.

This thread has already lost its purpose, but I will say I ate at Edley's (12 South area) the other day, and it shot to the top of my BBQ rankings for Nashville. Good stuff.

You can never "lose purpose" when discussing good BBQ!

While I do miss TX BBQ, the pulled pork this way is amazing. Hear it only gets better in Carolina & KY.

I've been in Nashville for 5 years now. My go to for BBQ in the area? Mickey Roo's Texas Style BBQ in Franklin, TN. As a Texan, BBQ is about the brisket and no one does brisket like a Texan. I don't waste my time or money at the Nashville "go to" BBQ joints like Jack's, it just ain't BBQ if it ain't Texas style.

Good. Less of a line for me.
