If you want a "small town" feel, try Laurel. We have stayed there a few times and it's a nice cute little town, and only about 10 miles west down the interstate.

Other than that, I don't know. There seem to be some nice neighborhoods on the north side.

histag10, how far are you from Polson / Flathead Lake Area?

A long, long way. 8-10 hour drive. I'm on the ND border.

Know a little about the area though

Tampa, just throwing my two cents in. I've been through the Flathead lake area a few times. I've never lived there though. The are is very beautiful and the lake is awesome. Polson itself is on the Res and unfortunately a bit of a dump. Now Kalispell and Whitefish north of the lake are pretty awesome.

If you are planning on visiting the area, I suggest staying in Kalispell. You can visit Glacier NP from there as well.

It's great to see your plan come to fruition! Good things come to those that wait I suppose. Congrats!!

Yay! I would look in Lockwood. I think it's a nice area. Or on the west side of town, towards Laurel (or Laurel if you dono mind a 20 minute commute and want a small town feel).

One thing we didn't know- houses here are old. You will pay with your firstborn if you try to find something new (less than 10 years old) in a nice neighborhood.

Most new houses and apartment complexes we have found that are reasonably priced are low income housing.

Downtown area is a really cool area, but I wouldn't live there.

Despite there being a handful of ags in Billings, there is no Muster. There is one in Bozeman and one in Miles City- both are roughly 1.5 hours from Billings in opposite directions on the interstate

Just a side note. Yesterday we discovered some pretty great bbq up here (it's hard to find good food).

Blues BBQ.
523 Hilltop Rd
Billings, mt.

You have to go through the gas station to get inside. It's out in the lockwood area. The guy who owns it is from Oklahoma (OU). I think he said he used to own a shrimp house in Freeport.

Anyways, it's pretty great hole in the wall texas style bbq.

Any plans for Aggie Muster? I noticed a Muster in Miles City. Anyone around Williston want to get together? Nothing formal but we could do something.

I'm 2 hours from Williston. We won't be able to make it to Miles City due to my husbands work schedule and a little one, but we could possibly figure something out.

Doubt you are wanting to drive into montana though, huh?

But husband frequently works around Sidney and Williston, so maybe.

Fuzzy Dunlop, if you decide ya'll would like to meet up, you have my email. If not, we will likely just have a beer or two here in Glendive.

Also, for anyone wanting to attend in Miles City, I was informed it is not at the location listed on the Muster Web site. They will be meeting at Yellowstone Tavern at 5:30. They serve food, so you can order dinner there.

Sorry I've not responded sooner. I'll be out of town that day due to work, unfortunately. I suspected as much last week but was confirmed today. Have fun in Glendive.
