I searched through 10 pages on this board so I apologize if it's already been done, but the wife, myself and my mom are in Nashville for the week while the kid is at a music camp. Looking for must sees and places to eat while we are here. Any recommendations?

Check out Broadway in downtown Nashville. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars, live music, etc.

Would recommend you drive 30 miles south of Nashville and spend a few hours in downtown Franklin. Very quaint area, and the women will love the shops.

If you want to get a bit adventurous, head east about an hour and 'canoe the Caney' River.

Some pretty neat areas within Nashville as well, particularly near Vanderbilt University and Belmont University.

It's a great town.

we live in Franklin, and I agree that they will love the downtown. a lot of fun shopping, great restaurants, etc. otherwise, south Broadway for music. if they like history, the Hermitage is neat.

for restaurants, Pucketts is popular, either downtown or Franklin location. I know more about Franklin, and in downtown 55 South is good, Gray's on Main is a neat for drinks(but overpriced. you pay for the location). My wife and I usually just sit at the bar at the Mellow Mushroom and drink a beer and split a calzone.

I live in Cinci and visit Nashville quite a bit because I have a lot of friends there and well...Cinci sucks.

Food recs:
Hattie B's for Hot Chicken (go to the Charlotte avenue location, less crowded)
Pharmacy Burger
St Anejo's for drinks
Bar Taco
Edley's if you want TN barbecue (it's nothing like Texas, you have been warned)
Find a Jenni's Ice Cream

I second heading down to Franklin. Go check out a civil war sight, they are in abundance down there and very appealing to the history buff. The Cheekwood gardens are great. If you or your mom are into gardening or plants you'll love it. I love walking up and down Broadway and listening to all the artist just trying to make a buck. Go catch a show at the listening room.

If I think of anything else I'll add to it.

Search some Nashville words on the football board and travel board. Lots of suggestions from when folks went to Nashville this past fall including me.
