As the title suggest, me and my wife (both class of '94) are planning to rent a house/apartment in Lucca for ~5 weeks in June and July. The intent is to check out the are for possibly buying a place in Italy and spending 1/2 the year, or maybe more, there in our retirement years.

Are there any Ags in the Lucca area, or Tuscany in general, who might have already blazed a trail that could share some tips and tricks? TIA everyone...we're super excited.

Lived not, I do spend a lot of time in Massarosa. I would say its normal foreigner etiquette, you have to have some patience. They don't love the "Ohhh my!!! I CANT believe my family left this place." They have a ton of that already, just understand the pace there is different, I wouldn't say slower just different. Understand that they aren't being rude, they're just Italian.
