I sold off all of mine yesterday. I think it still has room to go another 10 to 15% higher near term, but I was willing to miss out on that in case it has a 50% drop. I also plan to buy any steep drops going forward.

Was not expecting it to grab the rest of that 10% higher in one day. Ha.

Affirmative. I also noticed BRKB is coiling hard as well, poised to explode to $495.

ASST might be worth looking at next week. Getting hyped up as the next BYND. (Strive Inc is a bitcoin treasury.)

Just be careful and take profits quickly. I'm in for some shares and targeting 2 and 2.70.

China trade talks looking good. We'll see what future show and tomorrow morning.

Gut says SPY 685 is on the table this week to close around 683 on Friday.

Would we expect the shutdown ending to shoot the market up? 700 before EoY?

Wont know the real look until the morning. But I suspect, given the news this weekend and it seems positive, that the futures will be green come morning

I think MSFT kills it. I think GOOG will too but I have trimmed my holdings there and taken some profits.

Cloud growth will continue to suprise for both IMO. I think GOOG still shows growth in search and quiets fears.

One of my banks just completed its transition to Cadence after being bought... Looks like I get to go through some more change next year.

Yup - Were you required to get new accounts? Or did they just transition your existing ones?

It's expected that Huntington will have you open new accounts. It's a good bank, and most of the local leadership is expected to remain in place. You'll have even more technology and bank services to benefit from.

I got a new account number as part of it. My parents also bank there but their account numbers stayed the same.

Market probably nervous there will be some kind of deal with China. I still think the US gov't will push for the development of our own supply of rare earths and battery manufacturing.

Edit: Ah, MP also had a $500 M offering of common stock.
flashplayer

I agree with you but I also think all of the rare earth stocks have lots of room to drop before they find footing. So I am going to see if they keep falling some more before I start to get an itchy trigger finger. Regardless of whether the US does start to take steps to develop rare earths, they are (mostly) far, far off from going into actual production. (MP is in production but not profitable)

I think everyone was hoping for some big announcement / deal for a lot of these companies and there's less incentive for the government to rush into that if China relaxes their posture. Any additional pushing of that timeframe on US rare earth companies is going to keep the stocks down.

Cadence (CADE)
First Horizon (FHN)
Hancock-Whitney (HWC)
Stellar (STEL)

Each of these are potential targets for different reasons - I'm heavily invested in the first two and have been nibbling at STEL. Which means HWC is likely going to get the biggest pop!

BOKF was supposedly in the mix for First Bank (Colorado) that was acquired by PNC. I know they're actively looking to grow, but they're fairly picky. I think HWC may be a target for them because of their fondness for energy lending.

Want to add zions to this mix. Their credit issues that came out last week combined with their challenges (which they surmounted) around liquidity during the last bank crisis puts them as a target. They have a great footprint and would add a lot of value to someone like Truist or US Bank.
