If you saw my overnight tweet I alerted members to be watching for an outside bar down failure candle today. Futures puts went 1720%.
This is the 3rd outside bar in the last couple of weeks and if you know my philosophy it is to go flat in trading account and layer the hedges in long share accounts. It can take a few days after the 3rd strike outside bar rule to see follow through. It's not a 100% indicator but nearly every single top after a trend push ends with the outside bar set up.
Do with that as you will....
thanks. I thought you were referring to something that was happening currently.oldarmy1 said:

Here is the initial outside bar literally the day before I launched OA1Trading in 2023. Imagine beginning a TRADING service and the initial greeting was to sell everything. lol

$SPX market makers broke channel down. Alerted members to enter Futures puts. Mine up 240% as futures nearly cut in half from overnight high.

Should this slide continue into the day and we end up below yesterday, I hope everyone has sold what they wanted to, hedged what they… https://t.co/Rz6GrTDz3o
feeling kind of dense here. the first two you highlight (mid May) are green, indicating upside, yes? the third you indicate (yesterday or today?) doesn't look like the definition provided above? am being to literal in the definitions above?oldarmy1 said:
Here is last 10 days with 3 outside bars. Outside bars are not that common of an occurrence, which is why they are worth noting when they cluster; especially after a long trend run.

running for the door. Adios, mofos!
can I assume this indicator is a good one to pay attention to when watching an individual stock as well? OKLO today?rednecked said:feeling kind of dense here. the first two you highlight (mid May) are green, indicating upside, yes? the third you indicate (yesterday or today?) doesn't look like the definition provided above? am being to literal in the definitions above?oldarmy1 said:

CRWV had been banging the table that it would hit $125. It did for sells.
Called it this years ARM parabolic trade. No telling where it can go. ARM went $165. On its initial push before pullback and then $186. Not saying CRWV does the same just that its price action has been consistent with a breakaway stock move.
Individual stocks its more of a short term move that MAY turn into a trend. Go through all your favorite stocks though and see how many had outside bars today, META AAPL etcrednecked said:can I assume this indicator is a good one to pay attention to when watching an individual stock as well? I was thinking that would be the case. kind of like a yellow light at the intersection. be prepared to stop or hit the gas depending on what else I see around me!oldarmy1 said:Individual stocks its more of a short term move that MAY turn into a trend. Outside bars suggest a struggle for control is in play, so short term moves can be hidden inside those wider range bars. To me it doesn't matter if the bar is low to high (green) outside bar or like today start above yesterday and fall below (Red candle). It's the fact that with each successive ones, when it happens like this current 10 day sequence, multiple times, you should be on high alert for macro structure being violated, to confirm your concerns were warranted, rednecked said:feeling kind of dense here. the first two you highlight (mid May) are green, indicating upside, yes? the third you indicate (yesterday or today?) doesn't look like the definition provided above? am being to literal in the definitions above?oldarmy1 said:

Correct. A lot of trapping can occur on either end of those short term as well. Also if it is a really big one like that initial 2023 chart candle. Watch really close for which side of the 50 Fib of that wide candle range is getting the action. If its down and either no breakdown occurs before turning back towards the 50Fib OR if it breaks below yet reclaims the outside bar low for close back within then it is a high likelihood to go test the other side of the 50 Fib. PATH reported and beat, guided up. I love this stock long term. We traded it for a double last year and its been stuck in neutral back down. This could get it started against towards my $25 target level to get net free for a new crop of investors.

yeah, I've followed a few of his trades and made out well. I don't do much on the options side because it's too risky with a demanding day job, but do dabble on occasionatmag95 said:
