I posted elsewhere but I live in NW Houston. The flight typical pattern into IAH is right down 290 then across north of BW8. That is an approach from the west or a wrap around over lake Houston to approach from the east. Pretty typical to see two columns of flights 3-5 deep every evening. It has been very light the last couple of weeks. The drop in number of planes over the area is noticeable.

Both put positions in last 13F would have been entered somewhere below $190 on both PLTR and NVDA. If he didnt sell last week, he is down on NVDA for sure. Could be down on both. Maybe we will get the strikes and exp one day.

I've lost count of how many PMs and really smart hedge fund managers have tried shorting TSLA on 'valuation' concerns and getting their face ripped off. Its like they continue to think this quarter the market is going to come around to see what they see, and it never happens. It wouldn't surprise me if trying to short TSLA has resulted in more firings of wall street analysts than any other stock pick ever.
I kind of have the same vibe from PLTR and NVDA. Ya sure, the fundamentals may not be there and P/E may be way out of whack and the financials seem sketch, but does any of that matter in this market?
Shorting both seems basically the same as shorting the market as whole (NVDA is about 8% of the S&P and PLTR is maybe 1%)
I dont really have an opinion on any of the stocks above but sometimes just reading the room is enough. And as always, the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent

I wonder why Burry chose to play the front side on these puts, instead of piling on the backside in a correction.
Looks like WWR lost one of their three off take agreements, causing it to go down today when it should have been up.

Precisely. The (overused) joke is that he's called 10 of the last 2 bubbles.
I tend not to trust any analysis that involves "staying tuned" for the next post.
I realize that Burry has been terrible on his contrarian dispositions, but the aspect of extending depreciation of this magnitude seems criminal with all the hyperscalers.
I guess he's going to highlight how if you discount earnings further, now already extreme price/earnings ratios are going to be even more extreme.
Meanwhile if people look at price/EBITDA, there is no effect.

Burry does his homework. He can see something brewing. He was the one who actually dug into the meat and potatoes of the MBS and CDO game and found how truly terrible and likely to fail those products were.
He has the ability to enter a position early and sustain MASSIVE paper losses while waiting for what he feels is inevitable. Very, very few can do what he does. And certainly nobody in retail. He's also had times where he realized that the game is likely to go on longer than he originally thought and essentially "stopped" himself out for a realized loss. Again, he can do that, because he's one of the few with the ability to make it all back.
His problem has always been timing. But he doesn't seem to care, again, because he has the luxury of being able to be wrong for a long time before eventually being right.
You can follow Burry if you want.. but it's likely to bury you. Even if he eventually wins.
