It's days like this that makes me realize, I will never come close to understanding the markets. Made some large purchases this morning that I thought I did my DD on along with the favorable headwinds I thought we would get.

What does that mean going forward?
I'm not a pro trader, just a guy trying to manage his retirement and every time I think I have a clue what's happening it completely flips the script and I show massive paper losses.

Well all my re-entries were executed, and now I'm out of cash while the dip keeps dipping.

I need to walk away from my computer for a bit lest I panic sell.

Same,this morning I just rolled over one of my 401ks into QQQI, SPYI, GPIX and GOF, then poof, the bottom fell out. Oh well.

At least I'm not dumb enough to trade on margin. Yikes.

I have no idea what I'm doing and every day I realize that I may have even less than no idea of what I'm doing.

It honestly depends. There is a serious risk of a volatility blowup if this doesn't calm down. That could cause equities to break a lot of support. We were already weak on indexes with NVDA earnings and this morning nothing more than a minor relief bounce. SPX 6500 level is pretty critical.

Like I said, there is potential that what just became a bull trap ends by the end of the month (and maybe even tomorrow) with an equally massive bear trap.

But when VIX is elevated, and especially when VXX is making higher lows, the risk is ALWAYS to the downside. That means tighten up stops on risk-on plays.

You have half the world thinking SPX 7000 is in the bag. The other half thinks we're in a bubble. That kind of dueling dynamic leads to a massive whipsaw environment. This was building for a while and many of us here have been warning that the easy gains were in and whipsaw was possible for at least a month now.
