How would y'all go about selling silver coins? Don't want to sell back to a dealer because it's taxed, would rather sell to a private individual, but many people are hesitant because they can't verify its real.

Whatever is the best bang for the buck? I have perused the eBay pages of all the companies listed on page one. Just a little overwhelming with all the choices.

Cheap really cool 10 oz bar from great mint. Also you can use CC on this purchase. It saves you money if your CC has cash back or rewards.

I think the best bang for your buck right now is the British Britannias at JM bullion. You get a government minted coin that is very recognizable and easy to liquidate when you go to sell. It's at a pretty good price considering today's premiums. If you pay via check or E-check, you can get a great price. Never pay via credit card unless it's on eBay. If you buy from an actual website, you'll usually get a 3-3.5% discount if you pay via check/E-check or bank wire. I always do E-check.

Fun story: I spent two summers on my banana seat, one-speed bike exchanging rolls of coins at the four banks in my hometown extracting junk silver that made its way back into circulation....this was in the early to mid seventies. I also bought junk silver with every penny of savings I had accumulated from relatives' birthday gifts etc. About the same time, my father became disabled and my parents became financially desperate. Around nine months later the Hunt's did their thing and I sold everything I had at 30 times face...and paid off my parents mortgage for them at the age of 12.
Junk silver continues to hold a special place in my heart.

Here's a great deal for under 33 an Oz. Scottsdale mint is very well known and trusted.

Yeah, Scottsdale's eBay page shipping was super fast. I ordered the chunky loaf on 5/20 and received it on 5/24 (that was over a weekend as well).Esteban du Plantier said:ChiefKiefton said:SaluteTheMarines said:Outdoorag011 said:

Scottsdale takes insane amounts of time to ship.
Monument has decent premiums and quicker turnaround. Similar with apmex, jm, bold.
You can buy from Scottsdale's eBay page and may get it quicker.

I don't know the first thing about metals, but I bought three gold American eagle coins from an aunt a few years ago for $1100 each to be nice. Are they worth anything today?
