How long do you want to ignore this user?
If it's been proven that investing in an S&P 500 index fund outperforms custom allocation, why do advisors and PMs still model their own portfolios instead of just putting people in an index fund?

Some people are not comfortable with the risk of the sp500 so an advisor can choose less risky assets.

Some people are comfortable with more risk and the advisor can choose higher growth.

I love index funds, but it isn't one size fits all.
