Good morning B&I board,

Does anyone on here have experience with starting a daycare? My wife and I are in the process of going through all of the licensing requirements, but I would like to put her in contact with someone that has experience in this field to make sure we are aware of the intricacies of this kind of start up. We have already consulted with our city's small business development center and they have been great.

If not you, maybe someone you know? This will be in West Texas in a rural area so it will not be a direct competitor.

Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

- Hire/Consult with CPA
- Have curriculum for the kids
- Establish meals (provide or bring their own)
- Provide a calendar with dates/times/vacation

My wife and I are in our 3rd yr of starting/owning a daycare. Currently she has 48-50 kids and 8 employees.

Provide meals and record number of students. Breakfast, lunch, and snack. The Dept of Ag has a program to pay you for this. There are guidelines like fruits proteins etc. But I think most daycares actually make money on this.
