Officially the clock starts the second you are approved so you lose a week while they mail the card to you. Unofficially they usually give you a few weeks after the 90 days but I personally wouldn't count on it.

I wouldn't get the regular venture because I feel the venture x is clearly a better card with a smaller annual fee after credits and lounge access. The sapphire preferred just went to 60k sign up down from 80k so now isn't a good time to apply for it IMHO.

I'd look at the Citi premier for a good sign up bonus and a downgrade path to a no annual fee after the first year. You can product change that card to a double cash or a custom cash after year one to cash in on the 80k offer but avoid the annual fee in year two.

Yes, you will earn the reward you signed up for. Also to get the exact date you need to spend by you can email Chase from their internal messaging system once you get the card and set up the online account asking them for the exact date.

After a year when the annual fee hits again you can use that same internal messaging system to product change this card down to the Bonvoy Bold to avoid the fee. This version of the card does give you a single night for a 35k or below room every year, so if you can use that voucher and get more than $95 on savings from it, it might be worth it to keep the card open.

If so look hard at southwest chase business cards. I got one at the end of 2021, ramped up spending starting Jan 1. With purchases and sign up bonuses I achieved a companion pass for almost 20 months. Plus 125K in SW points

I was in a chase branch today and if you apply for a CSP in branch it's 90k points for 4k spend in 3 months plus an additional 10k points of you spend 6k total in 6 months for a total of 100k points

5/24 applies as well as one sapphire and only one sapphire bonus every 48 months and the annual fee is not waived for the first year
