Just got gas. Regular was $3.89 and premium was $4.79. Mid-grade was $4.29.

I'm well aware the delta between regular and premium has been widening, but I've never seen it this bad. And $4.79 is about the highest price I've paid this year!

I have noticed the stations with the cheapest regular gas in the area usually have the worst premium prices, i.e. that one station advertising 3.99 regular often has cheaper premium fuel than the station down the street advertising 3.79 regular.

That actually makes sense (not in a good way).

I pretty much only stop at two gas stations, but I had an appointment this morning and had to go to one I would normally never use. I literally paid dearly for deviating from my routine.

I can only use ethanol free in this old girl. And at 8 MPG it stings to pay over 5 bucks a gallon.

Good looking. Truck, that is. You live in RR? Looks like my sister's neighborhood off of McNeil Road. (Wildwood street)

The truck definitely looks better then my old ass. I'm just north of the old Dell campus. Your sis is on the other side of 35 from me. She lives in one of the best neighborhoods in RR.

She may live in a nice neighborhood but she doesn't have a truck like that. You win.

Get her to take you and family to the McNeil/35 bridge in the summer or fall. We have a bat colony as big, and some think, bigger then the Austin one. They come out by the hundreds of thousands at sunset. If you have kids it will be a huge hit.

You can't get under the bridge nor do you want to. Besides risk of rabies you will get drenched in pee and poo. They have several spots close to watch though. Quite the sight

Be glad you're not in California. I just talked to a guy out there and he's been paying around $7/gallon recently.

Yeah, I was in California over the July 4th holiday and saw prices over $7/gallon. I paid about that much per gallon when we were in The Azores last month, too.

For some reason the large delta between regular and premium is irking me more right now than the high price itself. Especially when regular is coming down in price but premium is not. They should trend together.
