I flipped a golf cart at a very very wealthy and prominent lawyers kids bday party when another child swerved towards me and I swerved to avoid them when I was little and my arm has never been the same. I wish my mom would have done something like this. I'm sure the lawyer was savvy and protected but I am certain she could have got something. 30ish years later and my arm still isn't normal although I've managed well. I remember him riding to the hospital in our car though, surely to make sure he was protected as can be. I can imagine the dollar signs he was seeing from the settlement and the policy increase from it.

Thank you for posting. I'm definitely not the type to run to a lawyer, so I was really grateful when the home owners made it a non-awkward situation by offering their home owners insurance up.

My son is going to live the rest of his life with out the tip of his finger and a disfigured fingernail (might remove nail when he gets older). Not the end of the world but also not nothing. I'm really happy he's being compensated and like I mentioned earlier in the thread, the friendship remains with the homeowner. Win win IMO
