Once you invest money into one of these, how do you get cashed out? Saying you bought in, and the value actually goes up, how do you sell? Seems like you invest and then you just hope and pray a big boy buys up all of the company. Am I missing something?

Probably similar to private placement investments. There are guidelines for investment distributions/repurchases that you agree to up front.

Or, if you own some % of whatever you invested in contractually, you can sell that privately.
