Both look good but I need diversification so there can be only one! Looking for use some dividend income in retirement which is a decade or so away.

Who would you take?

Who would you take?

Is it 1 or the other? And why these 2?

Very solid companies with a good dividend history, Yield is attractive as they have been beaten down a bit due to covid.

You have a better alternative, I am all ears!

yes it has to be one or the other between the two, they are basically in the same industry-ish.

I wouldn't say they have a good dividend history, especially LYB. They don't have much of a history and they have cut it a couple of times.

Dow has cut theirs severely a couple of times also.

As the waves roll, the eagle will fly to the setting sun.

I have EPD & recently bought ET. Have had EPD for over 15 years, consistent dividend growth. ET projected to do well also.

EPD and MMP, you won't find higher quality companies with good dividend yield than those two in my opinion.

For LYB, what is their plan when they shut the cash cow (recently at least) Pasadena refinery at the end of 2023?

Pete Vanacker (new CEO) is gonna convert it to make RD/SAF. His history with Neste, the huge amount of existing hydrotreating capacity, and IRA + state incentives in CA, Illinois, NY tells me that's a lock. Even if they did sell it, buyer would likely do the same thing.

Can EPD maintain that payout ratio? 75% is pretty high.

If the money is in a retirement account look for dividend growth, sell the growth when you need it. If you're looking for pure income from equity you're invariably going to get a dividend cut. I've had the same account in one of my IRA's for over 10 years, it's worth twice what I invested despite RMD's and this current market.

I own both. Been acquiring since last summer. Dow is up 11% and LYB 13%, plus the nice dividend. Part of a bigger diversified portfolio.

But then again, I also own FRC, lol.
