I've been keeping a chunk of 'cash' in my Fidelity brokerage account in their cash-sweep program earning 4%ish and then selling cash secured puts. The cash still earns interest while it's securing those puts. Pretty nice.

Be careful. Here's a WSJ article and this is a quote from inside it.
"Cash has outperformed both stocks and bonds only 12 times over the course of a year since 1929. Last year was one of those times."
