I can't figure out how to move money from the HealthEquity HSA investment account to the Scwhab brokerage account.

There is an 'easy' button to go from Schwab to HealthEquity, but not the other direction.

If the accounts are linked, make sure you have cash in your HealthEquity account (above whatever minimum cash balance you set - note this is cash, not what you have invested in HealthEquity), then click 'Manage investments' from the Home Screen, click the 'Schwab Brokerage Account' tab, select 'From Health Equity' and enter how much you want to transfer to Schwab into the 'Transfer Amount' field and confirm the transfer.

Thanks...I'll try selling some of the investments....which is such a PITA I finally decided to open the Schwab brokerage.

It's easier to work it from the bank you want to go to, so in your case I would start the process from Schwab, fill out the trustee to trustee transfer with them and let them work the process.

The bank getting the money will work harder to push everything through than the bank that is losing the business.

I have a HealthEquity HSA and I have found the website to be an absolute PITA to use.

I have a Health Equity HSA and these have all been good responses. I had the same exact question about a month ago in terms of moving funds from Health Equity to my Schwab HSBA.
I actually started a chat with the online assistant and they were very helpful. Walked me through it step by step. Not sure if you had tried this option yet.

I've gone through a couple of different HSA providers, and have only truly been happy with 1 of them in terms of ease of investing funds.
