I could have posted this in the Nerdery, but decided to post it here as part of our periodic conversations around monthly subscriptions.

So there are services out there that troll the internet on your behalf and remove your personal data. This actually may be a worthwhile sub to get.

Google updated its "Results About You" tool, and using it has been an eye-opening experience. Plug your data into Google's free toolthe company promises not to use it for any other purposesand wait a few hours for the alerts to roll in.

The Google tool only shows search results. To cover your bases, you also need to go to the data brokers directly. Two info removers, DeleteMe and Optery, offer free exposure reports. If you pay for a subscription, they will submit opt-out requests to the services for you.

There are three services called out in this article that run from $4 to $12 per month: Optery, DeleteMe, and Aura. Has anyone used any of these?
