This sounds really dumb but I just ran across it a few days ago, more technical

This cartoon explanation makes Core sound like idiots

Core wants to increase data transmissions to a point bitcoin becomes giant spam folder, including anything illegal anyone wants to upload with potential legal consequences for those running Core nodes.

Thoughts?

Personally, I stick with Core due to the dev support and overwhelming community consensus. However, I have no issue with Dashjr creating another implementation with features he finds valuable. The fact that both exist is a byproduct of Bitcoins decentralization and it being open source. It's a feature not a bug, in my opinion.

Nothingburger. Most people have given up on it being an actual payment mechanism and the items mentioned are just irrelevant to its success.

And getting the community to agree to any changes on it are near impossible. This will never happen.

But why sign up to add a bunch of spam and junk data storage requirements. Its of no benefit

Seems like a great example of the KISS rule, keep it simple stupid. Its digital gold, thats all it needs to be and be so as simple and as uncomplicated as possible
