Lol, that's going to be all tokens eventually. I saw a setup online where a guy was setting up Claude on a spare desktop, syncing with his laptop, and it ran non-stop like OC.

You can still use OpenClaw but you have to use it with API tokens. Makes sense to me.

Enjoy your $3K bill.

A ton of what people are doing with OpenClaw can be run locally for just the cost of your electric bill. Even if you want to stay in the cloud most of what people are doing can be done with light, fast, and cheap models like Flash and Haiku. The old setup where you got tons of usage of high powered models just from the subscription made it so people didn't have to think about which model they were using and why.

If you're doing high horsepower work that does require models like Opus then whatever you're doing should be generating some good ROI where $3k isn't that expensive.

I think my personal opus token use at work is like $15K a month.

As long as it's doing the work of a couple of $70k employees your company is coming out ahead.

my clawbot spent $10 on two simple questions. I cut off Claude tokens to it. There is other AI you can feed it, I just haven't gotten around to it.

I just got a 3D printer I set up last night. And playing around with mesh radios. I have too many toys to play with!

My dealership client is on to me. They sent me a matter, not terribly complex, but it would have taken me a couple days to research and write the letter they wanted.

I sent the letter back with a legal memorandum on the issue with unbelievable detail back in an hour. I thoroughly checked all citations and proofread the letter. I had to make a few revisions, but it was 99% perfect.

So as a billing attorney, how do you make up the income from the lost hours of billing for your work from efficiency gains?

I run a frac sand business and are main competitive advantage is proximity. I am always going to Google Maps to see the distance from one of our plants vs. our competitors to a potential job. The issue with that is you can only see one route at a time and can't compare the two.

I told Claude my issue and said I want to be able to see the distances and compare the two. It built me an incredible interface that shows the distances, how much better the ideal route is, and visualizes all this. I then got to play around with it some more and input all of my plants and my competitors as well as trucking data to show how much the customer will save. I did all this in basically no time at all. It's amazing.

Take on more work.

You've probably heard the story about the two campers and the huge Grizzly Bear. One starts frantically putting on his shoes, and the other says, "why are you doing that? You can't outrun that bear!"

"I don't have to outrun the bear; I just have to outrun you."

Clients will come to expect speed and reduced cost. I aim to know more about AI than any other lawyer in my area. Adapt or die.

I was planning my garden at my house. I am doing new raised bed this year. I didn't ask, but it created a program with toggle switches I could see several different layouts. Once I selected the layout, I asked it to figure out how to best fill them. It gave some German word for the method. Mulch, cheap dirt, really good dirt, vermiculite, perlite. It gave me the volume of each needed for my six new beds.

I then asked it to search Home Depot, Lowes, and Tractor Supply for the best price, preferrably at one location unless there was a huge difference in cost.

It searched all the sites, even calculated upcoming sales promotions and factored in the 5% discount I had with a Lowes credit card. It even found another local provider I wasn't even aware of.

The 5% discount prevailed. It told me the number of bags of each product to get. I ordered it all online.

I drove my truck up to Lowes with my trailer and I didn't think about it, but it was loaded to capacity. I got worried so before I drove off, I took a picture of my trailer info on a sticker on the side. I asked it to calculate the weight based upon the bags and the load capacity for the trailer. It told me I was a few hundred pounds overweight, and how many bags to transfer to the bed of my truck. I went over that for safety, but that was awesome.

The more I play with it the more possibilities I see but there are things that are incorrect or incomplete or dated. When you call them out it corrects it's answers to some degree but you have to have a level of knowledge to see the flaws. I suggest people delve into AI on a subject you already know well to get a feel for the nuances.

Agreed. I use up probably half my tokens having Claude clean up the crap it broke on the previous iteration.

Great business model.

I programmed an app that segments customers based on a wealth score. I mostly use it directly with Shopify and Klaviyo for more tailored email flows. www.scoremylist.com if anyone wants to check it out!

I need to rework some pdf brochures with new pictures, info and layout. In the past I'd try to find a graphic designer. Is there a specific AI site I should use? Or is it a question of prompting?

I use it at work to help with sql code all the time. It's good a good aide but tends to over engineer what could be a simpler solution.

Tried using Gemini this past weekend for horse racing. Not for picks but breeding lines, tendencies, surface preference. It was worse than worthless. Just completely making crap up. I spent more time checking and correcting it than I did actually handicapping.

I had it assist on a case. Client bought property at a sheriff sale without running a title check. Turns out there is a $240k mortgage. Oops. Anyway, he paid $99k for the lot and there were $56k in excess funds but Claude screwed up how to apply that to calculations. You have to check it. But its ability to pull facts is awesome. Cuts my time in half or more.

That's the scary part. I asked it direct questions and caught the lies. Build a model and you won't see the lies in the background.

They have had a huge uptick in users over the last 2 months and their capacity can't handle it during peak hours. If you are on the free version it cuts you off quickly if you're chatting at the wrong time.

I've written at least ten apps

* Hah sorry I meant to finish my statement and got sidetracked.

I wrote a bunch of apps for my team at work. Stuff that's repeatable but not really worth spending the time and money for a full developer to get involved. Over time we're saving hours of work. It's awesome. I know very little actual coding. Just throwing together html/have embeds for websites for the team to use when they have certain tasks to get done.

if you are unable to find uses for chat/other agents, then you are just not good at prompting

Not Chat GPT (which I use at home a lot), but my EMR just rolled out an AI product and I subscribed. I walk into the room, my MA loads up the patient's chart on the iPad and hits the record button. In the past, my MA would scribe for me and had to pretty much stay in the room the whole time or completing the note was left up to me. Now, they can walk out, get the next patient ready, clean instruments, answer patient calls, etc. I dictate my findings and plan out loud, which is better for the patient anyway, the AI wraps it all into a note and once I reconcile (there are a few hallucinations and errors, but very few), and the note is done.

I also use Open Evidence on the iPad whenever something is tricky, I need to sort through multiple options, etc. Just today I had an old lady with a really strange condition and I asked Open Evidence what meds might be causing her symptoms and what the best alternatives would be and it spat out the answer in seconds.

Especially in medicine, however, it is "Garbage in - garbage out". But so far it is a huge time saver and I really think my delivery of medicine is better for it.

I had a guy call me. He used ChatGPT to settle his daughter's personal injury car wreck case. They paid her medical (which he doesn't even know how much her total bills were) and they offered her $4k for pain and suffering. ChatGPT told him it thought that was low and to call an attorney.

I asked him if he has dealt with liens, reimbursement of health insurance, etc and he was like waaaaa? He already signed a release for the medical bills. Dumbass.

Auto Insurance Companies are going to have a field day with this.
