My 10 year old daughter opened her first bank account last week and I told her I'd pay her a $50 bonus if she reads a book on money management and writes a brief report. Any suggestions on a good book?

I promise I am not S***ing on techno, and don't even know that book or anything about it other than it is Dave Ramsey (I have never read his stuff, but have heard him, and I am very debt averse, even if it is not ALWAYS the best approach, so it fits my overall world view). I just want to comment that I think it is funny AF that the 161 page book costs $46.

It's more expensive elsewhere. If it were me I'd look for a used copy somewhere. But yeah I think it's got lots of colors and is hardbound. Books like that ain't cheap these days.

Understood. My first thought was to ask ChatGTP to summarize the book in detail for me to see what it would push out, but I'm already to work distracted and need to dial in and get some stuff done. Thanks for not being defensive.

I've started ROTH IRAs for my 14 and 11 year old.

We're putting in everything they earn from dog sitting, mowing, etc. It's not much ($20 here, $40 there), but it's a real world education and I'm hoping over time it'll help them learn the benefits of starting early.

The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton

It is pretty straightforward and simplified, but teaches some good, sound financial lessons that a kid approaching the teenage years might be able to appreciate.
