Supposedly the "CEO" who made the bid has nothing to do with Mooney's, sounds like a scam.

Although I was born in Kerrville, I was raised in Boerne, and I'm not very familiar with Mooney.

Although I was born in Kerrville, I was raised in Boerne, and I'm not very familiar with Mooney.

Company makes, or made, small planes. Single-engine general aviation planes like Cessna. It has been around in one form or another for close to 100 years, but quick survey shows it goes bankrupt about once a decade.

Their planes, iirc, are somewhat higher performing than their typical small general aviation competition. Along with the performance premium comes some extra challenging control issues, to the point that they earned a reputation as "doctor killers"

We always hear about the disproportionately impacted. In this case, it seems to be doctors so maybe they are just trying to diversify their kill count across more demos.
