I'm not sure why Morris doesn't play more at this point. But at least we just fouled out their center. It seems like we're playing to not lose right now by trying to drain the clock. I expect Georgia to amp up the pressure on defense so we better get ready for that.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen the net rankings rules but the eye test is part of the net rankings. Winning by more than counts and is one of the factors that is calculated.

When this team shoots 20% in the first quarter it hurts their Net rankings because scoring efficiency is part of the equation.

Good win but this team is going to have to learn how to play well for 4 quarters as the season finishes up or the post season results won't likely be great. Morris should be starting assuming she's 100% healthy.

18 turnovers but we were even on the boards with GA with 36
15 points and 12 rebounds by Ndea and I think she may have taken 3 charges
Kayla had a nice game with 13 points and Ciera had 12
Only 2 points from the bench tonight but 10 played

I'll give Nixon credit she is nails on free throws 5 for 5 today, but then she has 5 turnovers and only 1 assist.

Some of those were definitely phantom fouls. For both teams. 43 fouls is a lot!

First she gets confused in the offensive half court sets. You can't have that and run the point
Second. She is a pretty good on the ball defender but has lapses in team defense and loses her assignment when ball is quickly rotated by the opponent.

Is she good?? Absolutely but needs to understand Gary offense or you don't play the 1 position. He is hard on his point guards more than any other position.

As for the fouls there were a lot but it was an evenly called game and that is what you want. The players can adjust to how you do when the officiating crew is consistent

I agree with much of this. She hasnt been full strength for 3-4 weeks though so I'm praying she gets her jam back soon. Nixon has not played well the last 3-4 games. So many turnovers that are unnecessary. Great free throw shooter though. Tbh when we went on a run in the 3rd I believe Morris was in the game.

Z Green has some crazy turnovers today too. It's almost like she was just going to take the ball and drive no matter what.

I really think they are all fighting desperately for playing time and trying to make things happen when they are in the game instead of allowing the game to come to them.

Did Pitts ever even attempt a shot? Every time we got close to getting her the ball we had a turnover.

Thursday is an important game for us. If we win that, Sunday will be even more important.

The reason I pointed out the number of fouls is that it was hard for either team to get into any kind of rhythm when there are so many stoppages in play. A number of fouls called in this game were not called in previous games, you have to let the players play the game with normal basketball contact and not whistle every little touch. Morris may not understand the offense as well as Nixon, who set out a year so she had time to get the offense down, but she brings energy and she is not strictly a right handed player. If you watch Nixon I would bet 90% of the time she starts everything to her right. This makes it easy for teams to defend her and harder for the offense to work.

I thought the refs called a pretty good game. Yes there were a lot of fouls but the defenses were both very aggressive.

The defensive play of both teams ruin chances for each team to get in a rhythm. We went on the 8-0 run in Q3 that was the difference in the game.

It was nice to see Anna get some quality minutes. She was aggressive and stood tall. Might need to use her length down the stretch.

We shot 19 free throws while Georgia shot 6. I can imagine that UGA is the one complaining about fouling discrepancies and officiating today.

I think that the refs called an equal game, from a TV perspective. It also seems that the women particularly don't know how to drive effectively or defensively they can flop convincingly. IMO, there is a epidemic of charging calls in both the men's and women's game, but particularly in the women's. I think it lessens the game.

However, having said that, we are really good at drawing charging fouls.

I thought that an elbow above shoulder level was always a flagrant foul.

Also N'dea took one to the face. Not sure why that wasn't flagrant.

N'dea got called for one against Auburn

but that foul is like targeting in football, nobody calls it consistently from game to game
