We were "last 4 in" going into this week because we started the year nicely. After a month of disappointing ball, we are now after tonight on the outside looking in.

We simply aren't playing good enough to be in right now and if we want to turn it around it has to start really soon.

Unless something miraculous happens, it's looking like our NCAA street will come to an end this year. We still have to play Georgia who's in the top 25 and SC,LSU, and ole miss a second go around.

I am sure Gary did not want his last year to go like this! Personally, the way we are playing we do not belong in the tourney. Personally, I do not hope the next head coach to come from the current staff. I would prefer a young proven head coach to will infuse enthusiasm into the program and shake things up. We need a new direction.

Realistically, how many do you think we have to win to make it into the tournament? Do you think a losing conference record gets us into the tournament? (I'm genuinely asking) Looking forward to our remaining schedule, I'm not certain we will get over 500 before the end of conference.

All of the conference RPI lists have the SEC as #1 or #2 in conference RPI. We probably get in under .500 though that isn't a goal. If we only win seven we could be in trouble. Five or less probably out.

But I doubt we fall that far. Ole Miss was a very bad matchup for us like Carolina was. But if we don't make it then we don't. Not sure why we complain about him. He's been a tremendous coach. Don't steal his joy.

Does it even matter? As a program we are past the point of celebrating just making the tournament, and we are not good enough to make any noise even if we do squeak in.

I'm rooting for us to make it and make a miracle run and send the old man off in style, but at the same time this program is stagnant and I'm looking forward to bringing in a new coach to clean house.
