The freshman class are really good. I also like the initial point to us having 24 points on average out due to injury. SC got way too many calls though. You couldn't even play defense during the 1st quarter.

I can only imagine playing a SEC schedule with 7/8 inexperienced players. I agree that SC really got that home cooking from the referees, Over the back and pushing the girls off screen calls were non existent against them. We had to be physical without fouling, but the refs were calling questionable fouls on us that really got us in foul trouble early. I'm definitely not saying that the outcome of the game would have been much different but dang, let our girls return the physicality that SC delivers and call it evenly. This is a game that you have to learn from, watch film, put behind you and get ready for a good Fla team. The next few games will show the mental toughness of the team. Like Coach says, get better every practice and the results will come. Coach is experimenting with roles of players on offense that I haven't seen before which may help the offense down the road create more points . Time will tell. #BTHOFLORIDA

I agree with all of this. One caveat would be that although it appeared South Carolina got away with lots of non calls, the difference was they were technically better (positioning, blocking out, taking shots when rebounding was possible, took care of the ball). Jada had some great moments and if she'd been able to play more it could have been closer. She's a lot more athletic than I thought she was. Very impressed with her so far this season! But, let's also not forget that South Carolina's starters didn't play much of the second half. I don't believe Boston played at all in the 4th quarter. The final score could have been much worse, but SC missed a butt load of free throws which was surprising to me.

I really like Petticord's moxy with the ball. She has those hesitation moves that Carter used to kill people with. KayKay had a few Ill-timed turnovers. Our mid range jumpers weren't falling and our shot behind the arc was non existent.

Let's pray the team doesn't get discouraged. Lots and lots of promise out there. I give major props to Patty who is soldiering through. Probably not how she wanted to spend her last season but she's been great as a leader so far.

It appears to be only a marginally competitive season for multiple reasons: new system, youth, injuries, etc. Hope for healthy recoveries, player development, improved team chemistry, and successful recruiting to be the highlights for this year.

I think and of course hope that Mrs. Taylor is the right coach. We sure started in a hole and it got worse due to injuries. I wish we would have had a coaching change much earlier
