GAME DAY Thread: Texas A&M vs #5 LSU

It's GAME DAY 12th Man! What's an upset that could surpass Ole Miss & Kentucky??? That could be this game! Hear me out, you know that's what I'm here for haha.

While I'm sure many haven't been looking forward to this one, especially as an away game, here is some context to consider:

LSU was supposed to play South Carolina on Wednesday this past week, but due to weather it got delayed to Friday evening. This was their most physically exhausting game yet, and not only did it end in a loss, but they had to travel (late that night or the next morning) only to have our match up less than 48 hrs away from that high inentsity road game. No team has had the set up like this, quite possibly could be best case scenario for us having to play them in their gym. They only had 1 day to prep for our team, and we are fresh off the momentum from the Kentucky upset, and confidence seems to be only increasing.

LSU only beat Auburn (1-6) by 10, while Kentucky beat them by 19. LSU only beat Tennessee by 2 and Vanderbilt by 6. They have played several close conference games.

Also, I'm sure Janae Kent has a unique insight into their system and strategic process...just saying. How cool would it be for Janae to have a breakout game against her old team (this might even "feel" like a home game for her).

Let's hold confidence for what the Aggies can do today! I believe anything is possible!! Our defense can disrupt any team when it's locked in!

Hope she is okay, but it didnt look good.

On another note: why can't they bring out a wheelchair when players get injured? Poor girl had to hobble on the shoulders of 2 of our staff members all the way to the other side of the court.

Proud of our team! We had it within 2 in the 4th, it's hard to not think how the game COULD'VE gone if we didn't lose AC in the 2nd (defensively & offensively). Couldn't get shots to fall in those last few minutes, but we stayed with the #5 team in the nation the whole way through until then.

Prayers for AC, please let this not be season ending.

Keep fighting Aggies, a lot to take from this game!

Absolutely heartbreaking. AC is one of the toughest players to ever be an Aggie! So much love and gratitude, such an honor to have her in maroon and white. Our thoughts and prayers are with her in this time. I know she is surrounded by love and support. Thank you for everything AC!!!

What we saw on Sunday was our team (short handed even) responding with determination and heart after AC went down. I know this team is family and will be playing FOR her the rest of the season. I think we see Taliyah getting way more minutes and scoring priority. She looked more like an elite athlete than every LSU player the other night. If we really were doomed, of all opponents how did we close in within 2pts in the 4th quarter against one of the nation's best teams (with #1 recruiting classes & #1 transfer classes)? These are the moments where athletes get to step up and unlock what's been in them all along. This team's WHY just entered a whole new echelon.

For those who are willing to believe the best and champion our squad, let's be a powerfully supportive!

She got a concussion in practice the day before. She should be back after the Arkansas game! They have strict protocols with concussion/head injuries, understandably so.

Just saw the news on Coulibaly. Ugh…I hate this so much for her, our team, and Joni! I was afraid this would be the outcome when I saw it happen on Sunday but was still hoping for the best. Sheesh…this team can't seem to catch a break. Just when things seemed to be coming together. I met AC after her first game last season and she was so joyful! She said with a huge smile how happy she was to be in Aggieland! Such a quality person and competitor! Just the type you want in an Aggie uniform. Just super sad for her. Wishing her the very best moving forward! We love you, Aicha! Gig Em!

tough news regarding AC. It does seem like the team is playing with great effort and much better execution and limiting turnovers----however with a thinner bench we may tend to wear down in the 2nd half against stiff competition. I am pleased that Joni is getting more out of the team then she did at the beginning of the season.

I hope we can hang with t.u. like we did with lsu--gives us a chance to win the 4th quarter.
