I don't think that's a silly statement or question at all. Her actions have not proven that she's invested in being here. Recruiting is non existent. Her focus has been the Olympics. That's different from her inability to coach during practices and games. She's failed in both avenues.

Go ahead and file this under things you'd never hear a coach say….sheesh! What coach actually says these things in public? Kinda funny how she was supposed to be the rising star after their run to the NC game, but they haven't done much since. One hit wonder due to super guard Aari McDonald. Too bad we had to play them early in the Tourney that year. Sent our SEC Champion team packing, unfortunately. I remember seeing N'dea Jones and her family on the River Walk the day after our loss looking so sad. Man, I loved that team! Great group of players and people. Hoping we return to those days sooner than later.

No surprise here. Just glad she's not coming to the SEC unless it's to be our coach someday. Smart move on her part taking a P5 job in the state where she already lives and greater chance for success in the Big 12. Hope she does well!

NIL changes drastically going forward - starting this Fall. The school will be paying the athletes $22+M per year (with an inflation increase annually). Yes, this is NIL. The athlete is signing away some NIL rights to the Athletic Department in exchange for a "revenue sharing" payment. This grant of NIL rights for the revenue sharing payment avoids the athletes being labeled employees (although that could happen later). So the biggest funder of NIL goes from being collectives to the schools. And this $22M is money from a source that didn't exist prior to this year. Yes, there will still be outside NIL deals but nothing like exists currently as the primary and only NIL funder. The Deloitte clearinghouse ends deals just being pay for play. WBB is expected to receive 3-5% of this pool from the school. The low end of that % range is $660,000 and the high end is $1,100,000.

And there has been a big push to get NIL deals done now in this window before the clearinghouse starts to avoid having them examined. Is the clearinghouse going to be perfect, absolutely not. But at a minimum, it is going to be a nuisance and it is going to have a court federal court settlement behind its existence and purpose. So, it is going to be "a factor".
