It's unfortunate that we can't let the clock run even during timeouts so nobody has to watch this clown show.

We have multiple problems but the truth is we don't have good athletes. The few decent players we have will leave at the end of the season.

We look like a bad high school team.
The volleyball team had much better overall athletes . Volleyball is rising in popularity, is wbb so sinking?
We just can't get the athletes you need to compete.

At the beginning of the broadcast when she subbed out they mentioned she's on load management.

Coaches do not have the team ready to compete in the SEC. Might be a long season this year.

I asked chatgpt why Joni still has a job lol!

Here's a non-speculative, fact-based look at why Trev Alberts hasn't fired Joni Taylor as the Texas A&M women's basketball coach, despite some fans and observers being unhappy with the team's results:
1. Her overall performance isn't uniformly awful
While the team had a very poor 2024-25 season (10-19, 3-13 SEC) and struggled in conference play, she also had some competitive moments and improvement areas and hasn't been historically terrible every year.
In her tenure at A&M, she's put together mixed results, including an NCAA Tournament appearance and seasons with more wins than losses early in her tenure.
2. Contract and program structure
Taylor is under contract, and athletic departments typically consider buyout costs and financial implications before making a mid-season or even end-of-season coaching change especially in non-football sports where the financial return on firing a coach is often smaller. Programs often complete seasons before making decisions rather than fire during the year. (This is general industry context; specific A&M contract details aren't public.)
3. Rebuilding context
TAMU competes in the SEC one of the toughest women's basketball conferences in the country which makes improvement slow and can mask progress if roster turnover, injuries, or experience gaps are factors. Some teams value stability and long-term rebuilding over frequent coaching changes. (This is typical in college basketball decisions.)
4. Some positive developments
Taylor has retained her job into the 2025-26 season, and early results (like wins in the North Shore Showcase and other moments) show the program might be in a transition or rebound phase rather than in free fall.
5. Broader athletics department priorities
At big athletic departments, decisions about one sport's coach aren't made in isolation. Athletics directors weigh:
Long-term program trajectory, not just one bad season
Recruiting success and player development
Budget and contractual buyouts
Support from boosters and university leadership
Even if some fans feel performance has been "poor," administrators may see enough potential or mitigating context (like roster issues or structural rebuilding needs) to keep a coach in place a bit longer.

Not having Ware will be really tough. Without her we have two post players on the roster that stand at 6'3 (Emerald Parker) and 6'1 (Fatmata Janneh).

Vanderbilt took advantage of our lack of size and had their two post players cutting up and down the paint or attracting double teams from our defense. We had no clue how to stop them. They didn't do anything complicated, they just knew how we'd defend and we couldn't adjust.

Most concerning is how they played Pryor (our lone ball handler). They frustrated her and doubled her. It's a blueprint for other teams to follow. You take out Pryor, we are done for.

The game was sad, there was a big emphasis on our response after Georgia and they responded well against Florida. They played with a lot of energy and intensity on both sides.

After a win, a rare Texas A&M Women's Basketball win, we came out flat, got punched, and had no answer schematically or energy wise

After that it will be largely smooth sailing though as far as SEC teams.

Ouch

I was pleased with how we competed in the first quarter. Much of that was because Vanderbilt was struggling the first 3-4 minutes to get any of their shots to fall; however, we moved well and made the most of our offensive game plan. Once Vanderbilt got hot, the game was over because we had no answer defensively.

The thing that turned me sour the most as I was watching the game was how Ny just refused to go to the ball when she got tired or was frustrated. That wasn't the most frustrating thing I saw. The MOST frustrating thing I saw was that after another turnover and another possession where Ny wouldn't come get the ball, during the timeout Janae walked towards her as they were walking to the bench and was frustrated, and the coaches completely isolated Janae and pushed her away and wouldn't let her talk to Ny. On one hand we have a staff that refuses to call timeouts and expects her team to figure it out, and then on the other she protects her star point guard from any teammate criticism. Very odd.

Let's hope Ware can play more than 2 minutes moving forward. I don't expect us to win any of the next 5 match-ups, but I would hope we can keep it respectable. We catch tu just after they lost their first game of the year. That won't be fun.

This team is better than last season in terms of some things. More people play harder than last year but there is no offensive system to the naked eye.

There are no shooters on this team compared to last year and last year didnt have many shooters either

The program needs a complete overhaul but not sure when that will happen. If we finish in the bottom 3 again for the SEC season do we wait another year to restart the program

All that complain Blair stayed too long or we lost out on other coaches because of Blair leaving when he did is just noise (whether right or wrong)

This is all on Joni Taylor no matter how many resets we have

All the players with major minutes are juniors and seniors so the roster doesnt bode well for future if none of the underclassman can get real minutes
