Yeah that's a terrible flip. Cheap grey flooring and tile, cheap appliances, really bad shower, the whole thing is done wrong.

Thought yall would like this. I live in Meyerland where it flooded several times over the last decade.

They are going to extremes to make sure that never happens again.

they have roughed up enough stuff that i'm assuming there is a remodel with added sq footage incoming. but, I'm also not sure why they didn't do more of that work before raising it up.

I live in the same area and have always wondered about the long-term structural stability of raising a slab like this. Most of those slabs were poured 60 years and, I assume, were intended to be supported by the ground beneath them. Now, these slabs are floating off the ground with maybe some beams and columns spaced out beneath them? I know people that have done it and haven't had any issues with cracking, but I find it hard to believe.

I'm not a structural engineer and haven't looked into what these companies actually do to raise the houses, so maybe my concerns are unwarranted...

A lot of owners of lifted homes are given govt grants to do so. At least the several in my old area of clear lake they were. I believe same is true for Houston area.

agreed...but it was my understanding that the FEMA grants for those programs had expired. I have to imagine anyone doing that now is footing the bill themselves.

Yea that seems pretty likely but prices may have come down a bit because Daddy govt isn't footing the bill and demand has probably contracted quite a bit. Could have also got stuck in govt red tape hell. Either way it's quite a big job. I used to drive through Nassau Bay looking at all the jobs in progress. Pretty cool to see.

I'll try to go by there when it is brighter out. But, on another one in the neighborhood, they added lots of steel beams integrated into the slab.

The house is pretty nice and it has a great view, but the watercolor type filter they used for exterior shots is awful.
I also laughed at the living room staging. Why would you do that?

I'm pretty sure I've seen the garage, 2 of the kitchens, 3 of the bedrooms, 1 on the laundry rooms, 2 of the bathrooms, the pool, and the backyard in various "videos" throughout my years.

I mean I knew the pool slide was fake I just figured it was Sugarland, saw the name of the realtor and figured someone actually built that hideous thing. I didn't make any of the photos large on my phone and I was looking in the middle of the night when I woke up to check how my job is going. And to be honest I didn't think there were any lots in Sugarland worth that much.
