Any referrals for civil engineering firms or surveyors that work in or around Bryan/College Station? I had one done in Houston several years ago for $300 and the first company I called in Bryan wanted around $800 and they were booked two weeks out. Maybe times have changed and prices have gone up but that seems pretty drastic unless I just stumbled across a really good deal when I had mine done last. I plan on calling around tomorrow but I was hoping you guys might have referrals in the area.

Thanks in advance!

300 was cheap. But all ancillary RE services are more expensive in BCS then Houston. Less competition.

We just had one done on a property in Bryan and paid $500 + tax. Tyler Tumlinson was the surveyor. tylertumlinson@gmail.com, 254-931-six seven zero seven.

Oh...and mind sharing what company was asking $800? Thanks.

I do them for 400+tax, just go to ATMsurveying.com if you want to order one. Kerr is so busy he doesn't want the work, that's why he charges 800+tax. Sometimes it might actually take that much work, but not likely. It really does depend on the property, and a lot of other factors.

Sorry I never saw this They now have an Eloma which can potentially be approved in a day if all the criteria is met. Just google us, Atm Surveying.

Question on this as I'm having a shop built in Brazos County. Do I need an elevation certificate to build the shop if its withing a certain distance from my house and at the same elevation? My shop will be about 30 yards away.

If I don't get an elevation certificate, what's the possible results when the county finds out about the new building? The last time I had a shop built at my old house, we just built it and didn't tell anyone. 2 or 3 years later it showed up on the tax rolls and I never heard anything else about it other than correcting the size that they had off by a few square feet.

I can personally attest to Adam/aTm here!

He's been great for me to personally work with on a property that needed a survey. He responded quickly, was able to squeeze us in right after the holiday and his pricing was fair/reasonable.

We got 3 bids total including Kerr and the polarity was shocking. $475-$1500+ between all three.

Thank you for help Adam!

It depends on which county and how deep their pockets are. I live in Harris and machine learning current annual oblique aerial photography. They'll find your unpermitted work within the year. They'll cross references with the county permit department and then you'll get tagged for improvements and then get a bill from permitting for your work. Plus fees, penalties and retro permits. If you dry walled it up, they can require you to rip it out to inspect wiring and plumbing.

Each year the tech is more widely available and cheaper. And they can go back years in fines, penalties and permits. Just be aware.
