Sight unseen. While I didn't find this gun, I did find something someone was willing to trade for it

I found like 200 square feet of finished storage space with a washer and dryer in a place I bought sight unseen. None of it was advertised or disclosed or included in the square footage. I don't think the agent even knew about this space to be honest.

Personal memorabilia from one of the players on the 1939 championship team. Some Aggie stuff but a box full of letters that he sent home during the war. House had three attics to dig through. The stuff I thought they might want, I returned to the family.

A different house, a set of these boots.

Bought an old fish camp on the Brazos river. The widow hadn't set foot in it since her husband died in the 80s. Awesome step back in time there. Poker table, old kegs, whiskey bottles, cast iron cookware, old fishing pictures, etc. She went in with me and said all she wanted out was the guns. You could see the emotions come over her. She started talking about the parties they used to have there.

I bought a lake house that I owned for over a year before I found a little 25 pistol on the top self of a closet.

Best finds are high up like that. Kitchen cabinets if they don't go to the ceiling, all closets.

Take your phone, turn on the camera and just run it around the top edge.

Wouldn't say coolest, but when I redid my kitchen cabinets I found a super old version of the boardgame Battleship up on top of it. It was quiet obvious that the previous owners kids were playing the game, got too rowdy, were grounded from the game and it was put up there to keep out of sight. Then they forgot about it.

Our house had gone through a couple owners before we bought it. We met the original owners one day and told them that story. The kids laughed and said yup that was definitely ours and that is exactly what happened.

House was built in the early 60s and I bought it in 2006.

Was crawling around running speaker wire in a far corner of the attic when i noticed an empty framed-out area that was just dead space given how a closet and hallway kinda came together. Looking down into it I could see a liquor bottle sitting on one of the 2x4s. It was going to be really hard to retrieve so i left it for another day. a while later i went back up there to retrieve it and found it was a bottle of jose cuervo from the 60s. looks like someone set it there when they were building the house and just put dry wall over it. i examined it for a bit, then put it right back where I found it. i sold the house some years ago and i'm sure it's still sitting there.

That thing is so small I basically can't even shoot it, because there's a safety on the handle you have to push in with your palm while pulling the trigger. Plus, it's only a 25. Those things are hardly bigger than a BB and would probably piss someone off more than stop them. I can see now how people can take several shots of something like that and still keep charging. I managed to shoot it a few times at the range just to fun, but there's no way I'd actually use something like that for self defense. I felt like Will Smith with the Noisy Cricket.

We found a bunch of drugs in a vacant house we bought. It had been wrecked by others looking for it, but we were doing a FULL renovation (had to) and no one ever thought to unscrew the horrible bathroom cabinet from over the broken toilet - and there is was.

Not as good as some of the other stuff you guys have found but I've come across

A 7' long stack of National Geographic magazines from the early 1950s to 1980s
Railroad token from the 1880s
Craftsman 1/4" drive ratchet
100 year old light fixture in the space between the original and a drop ceiling in a bedroom

My brother found an old 32special rifle. Winchester 1896? Octagon barrel and a loop on the receiver for attaching to a saddle.

Found it under a couple inches of insulation in the attic.

Yep - A couple bags of white stuff..... At our office building, the lawn guy found a big brick of pot stashed under a bush. The lawn guy was like " is this y'alls?. When we called the police to come get it - he took a look and said "Nice weed".

My sister-in-law found a good sized loose diamond at the edge of the carpet next to the baseboard. I believe she ended selling it or trading it in for something at the jeweler.

That diamond reminded me of a find several years ago. The house was a foreclosure that had had renters prior to our purchase. We didn't have to do much to it & rented it to someone else. Fast forward a year or so & the new tenant is hearing a critter in the attic over the master bath. Mr. Schwack goes over there to investigate & we find a weird area over a cabinet that we'd never noticed. You got to it thru a strange upper cabinet. He pulls out a box and it is FULL of coins - not gold but old silver. On the outside of the box it said "Brandon - Do not lose these!!!!" Haha....

We actually knew those people. When we called, they could not believe that someone would actually return them. They told us they looked everywhere for them before they moved & even kinda broke back in to look some more before we got it.

They got us a nice bottle of bourbon (when nice bottles were still on the shelf) and are still friends today.

I think this is a better story than the drug ones.

Thats what someone who has never found a bunch of drugs would say.

First flip house I ever bought in Orange TX. Realtor didn't know how to read the survey … marketed it as a .5 acre lot … and we "found" an extra 1/2 acre after close.

Good friend of mine redid a closet and found a 1970 put together puzzle of a playboy bunny. The closet had a false wall he never knew about.

The awesome thing was they bought the house from his father-in-law.

Bad news was the wife wouldn't let him keep the art.

Parents found two, trifold American flags in the top of a storage closet, the flags only had 48 stars, which was kind of neat. Offered to give them to the previous owner, but they said to keep them.

When I was about 11 or 12 I was cleaning out one of my dad's rent houses after the tenant moved out. In one of the closets I found 2 large boxes full of Playboys dating back to the 70s. It was glorious!

So I feel like you're prolly my age and we both learned about T&A from our dads 70-80s nudie mags but I am also suspicious of your handle and rookie status. You weren't one of the "undercover" guys from what ever that Washington rally was last week are you?

Found this gem in a built in desk drawer. Still can't find a location that will cash it

Not a find but something planted to be found one day.

My dad bought a home in-order to sell it to a guy that worked for him (great employee, could never get an interest rate like my dad would provide, etc). The guy drank occassionally in his younger days but after becoming wildly religious (formed his own church that is he, his wife, and their 13 home schooled children) had quit.

While doing some work to get it livable, dad tied a beer bottle to a string, unscrewed anewel cap on the base of the stairs, and lowered the bottle into the hollow newel.

He told the guy he hid a beer in the house.

This was over 20 years ago. The guy still lives there with whatever children haven't grown old enough to move out. The beer still hasn't been located.
