I have a property in College Station that I'm considering installing a 2500 foot long precast concrete wall for privacy. I'm trying to determine the cost. If you know the ballpark cost or know a supplier in the area, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

That's a really big project. There's plenty of TxDOT projects you could use to scope what that might cost. You're probably looking at survey, geotechnical, civil, and probably structural all being involved before you ever select a contractor. If you can even find a contractor to handle that in your current market.

I can make a couple suggestions on who to call to feel them out on getting a project like that scoped. Post an email and we can chat offline.

Thank you for the replies.
I would expect the Txdot bids to be padded some since they are state jobs.
I'm looking for a wall similar to the ones that are around many subdivisions

Yes, but TxDOT has folks lining up to compete for their bids, and not entirely on price. A lot of private projects that aren't likely to generate repeat business can struggle to attract any attention at all.

I would reach out to Hilltop Concrete for a bid. They might be able to give you rough costs over the phone.

A wall or a fence? That is nearly 1/2 a mile.

Maybe look at fencecrete.

There were no bids. ~25 hours from posting a question to already receiving a couple bids…

The two bids that I have received are hilltop concrete and fencecrete for an 8 foot tall wall. I'm waiting on a couple other companies to finalize their bids.
Hilltop Concrete bid $178/linear foot installed
Hilltop Concrete also bid $63/linear foot for the materials alone, if I had my own contractor to install it.
Fencecrete bid $112/linear foot

I'm curious too. 8' isn't enough for any kind of effective noise barrier and that's the only reason I can think of to use concrete over something cheaper

Also, it seems like it would be much more cost effective to fully enclose the place where you really want privacy rather than providing privacy to one side of all of the property,... I don't know what the situation is though.

$178/LF*2500LF is $445,000... I value my privacy, but I don't half a million dollars value my privacy.

State jobs are semi competitive bids. You've got to have good numbers out of the gate. The padding comes in change orders, rework, and schedule delays.

They also have scale on their side. This small project is going to have a premium attached to it.

Best of luck. I don't know what or who you are trying to keep out, but it looks like you're willing to spend some serious coin to keep them out.

Sounds cheaper to plant a ton of shrubs / trees

Build a half mile of billboards instead, sell ad space, and pay for the project in no time.

86 the concrete wall and plant cedar trees.

Make sure your neighbor doesn't cut them down.
