I helped a guy sell half of a property. Sold one of two lots under the property address.
The local CAD has not split the two lots yet for property tax purposes. Buyer submitted paperwork (deed and survey) showing the split. CAD said it will take a while and pay your share in coordination with seller (existing lot owner.)
Today the buyer called me and said the existing lot owner had not paid taxes (not even due yet) and that he was going to pay the taxes and put a lien on the lot he did not buy.
is that even possible?
