I am getting a survey in the hill country and trying to figure out a fair cost

Property is 1.5 acres on a slight hill, with lots of trees, both oaks and cedars, probably 25 trees need to be notated

I need a tree survey, all oaks and large cedars noted on survey, along with topographical lines drawn of elevations.

Ball park cost estimate?

Well it's hard to say without researching it a little but I would ballpark around $1500 if the property is out of a subdivision and there aren't a lot angle points on the property line.

You may find some surveyor working out of their house to do it cheaper but you get what you pay for.

I just got a survey in NB for 1/2 acre with a house for $1050.WCR land surveying in Blanco.

Did either of these contain tree and topo survey, or just property lines etc

No trees on mine.

I assume this is for residential development on the property. You say you "need" the trees surveyed rather than want them surveyed. Is that because you have to turn this survey in to a regulatory body? If so, what are their requirements for the survey? Do you need recent title commitment or abstractor's certificate to provide encumbrances? Are you providing that to your surveyor or is he responsible for the full burden of the research?

To make sure I'm understanding your need, you're looking to get approximately 25 large oak and cedar trees located and identified on a 1 1/2 acre lot? Don't that should be that expensive... heck, I'd probably do it for ya for ~ $500.

Why couldn't you do it yourself, using your phone and gps?
