Has anyone here ever used "increased replacement cost on dewlling" in addition to your "dwelling" coverage for home insurance? Feels like this may be an artificial way to decrease your annual insurance exposure without providing true replacement cost barring a significant inflation event that would trigger access to the increased rplc cost coverage.

I add a 25% dwelling extension on almost every policy we issue. Particularly in today's world with inflation its an excellent way to increase your coverage in the event of a total loss with out raising your deductibles and minimal additional premium. Some companies will give you an option for a 50% extension as well.
