Howdy! Dale here with D4 Land Services LLC. My first post was to introduce us but in case you missed it we're a local excavating contractor in Bryan, TX that offers services for residential and commercial clients in Brazos and surrounding counties. D4 Land Services LLC is here to handle all of your excavation, land clearing, and mulching service needs.
This month I thought I would share some pictures and a little bit about the challenges we faced in one particular project we completed last month. And if you want to, feel free to share any challenges you've had to overcome on your land or project.
River property projects can pose some unique challenges. When planning a project like this you could be dealing with many types of soils, guaranteed flooding, erosion and sedimentation.
Have you been wanting to add some hiking trails to your property? These pictures show trails we cut with our smallest of mulching machines through vegetation that hadn't been cleared in decades. This was only possible due the current drought conditions.

This new bardo on the property needed a solid area for maneuvering tractors around the building but the client also wanted a clean driving surface. We recommended a 6'' Roadbase drive topped with 1'' limestone gravel.

Here we had to firm up a creek crossing that was very steep. We added larger rock and used a vibratory roller to compact for a smooth, solid driving surface.

In this photo we show the new access road we built going down to the river. It is approximately 2800'x14'. We had to divert some drainage because of the significant slope and tapered to a very nice crown to keep any water from pooling on the road. We expect some repairs in the future because a third of the road is in the flood plain of the river but we built it with plenty of material that a regrade would be fast and simple.

The best part of the project. We cut a simple access ramp to the Brazos river. Customer understands that this is temporary, because of the typical flooding and erosion we will have to be back to rework as needed.

When you work with our team, you can expect the job to be done safely and efficiently the first time around. No surprises. Get in touch with D4 Land Services LLC today to learn more about our services!
