I'm looking for houses in Mid cities, Keller, Colleyville area and am seeing houses double what mine cost currently but are paying half of what I am on property tax. Is what Zillow reports anyway accurate? Are property tax lawyers that good? I feel like I find this a lot in the houses in colleyville especially.

I have a feeling the raw tax assessment is public, but the actual tax paid due to homestead and whatnot may not be.

You can pull up the County Appraisal District for your county and search by address. The account number will show what it's assessed at and the mileage rate for each property. You can also go to the tax collector website and pull the current bill for the property you're interested in. All of this information is public. Happy to help if you want to connect. Email is in my profile.

If you're looking to buy or sell we can help! We'll even rebate you half of the commission, which you can use to buy down your rate, or cover closing costs.

Okay so here's another one:

Tax appraised at over a million. Pays around $6,000 a year. I just don't understand I guess. There's a ton of houses like this. And I feel like a sucker because my house is definitely not tax appraised this high but am paying more in property tax

Different crap voted in by people in the area that would up taxes, or maybe some kind of senior citizen or disabled veteran discounts apply behind the scenes that don't show online?

As said all the data you want is free and on the internet. Every CAD has site. Hint. 95% use 1990's web site. So most are hard to search unless you know how that site works. I used to search them weekly but now I've found better options.

If you do the CAD search as simple as possible. Say it's 11234 long avenue. Start with just long. Then expand long ave. Never use street address. Drill down to it.

If you want to use Zillow instead, spot check their accuracy to the CAD a couple of their listings. If they match you are good to go. No muss or fuss.

And there's a lot more. I just don't know if it's some tax loophole or what.

Gotcha. That's what those screen shots were. I'll spot check some of these others. I know my own property was right

Here's for the Behrens Road. Anyway, I won't clog up the thread anymore but it seems common enough for there to be some pattern and it could make all the difference in home buying for us so wanted to see if there was something y'all knew that I didn't.

TAD records on the account breakdown only show county, hospital district, and county college fees. It doesn't show school district fees, which will be a substantial amount. It also doesn't show city and special taxes.

ETA: Grapevine school tax on 800K at 1.50 is 12,000, so add that to what you see above.

You can look at taxnetusa.com for free, and it will show an estimated tax amount. 4905 Behrens is estimated at $17,156

I guess taxnet has changed to a subscription. If you want to see data on an address, email me. I subscribe to their service.

Thank you so much for clearing that up and the offer. I am good for now. I see now that GCISD actually collects their own taxes while most of the other school districts in the area, it gets lumped in with all of the other taxes.
