Does anyone know an approximate price per sq foot to build a barndominium in Brazos County? The wife and I want to build on some land, I'm hearing $200 per sq ft is about the norm.

We finance a lot of new construction including barndominiums. The only savings I can see from the barndo is in labor up front. The metal building can be put up much faster than traditional construction but other than that budgets look very similar. I've gone with a couple of clients and looked at $1MM+ barndos which are very impressive.

Looking to do the same but thinking much more basic with a 60x40 enclosed barn and 600 sq ft basic living quarters.

Anyone have any recommendations in Brazos Valley to do something like this?

How much does just a shell run per sf?

Some lenders require these days a foundation designed by a licensed architect/engineer; it was here barndos saved the money to attract buyers.

If you don't need clear spans, then the metal frame design is overkill $$$$.

Mueller is top dog but Morton might do more for less and offer metal exteriors.

Many barndo designs begin to morph into stick & brick built these days due to $$$$, lifestyle tailoring .etc.
