We're having a seller for a piece of land in Burnet drill a well for us before accepting the property.

What would be the minimum GPM to put into the contract?

It really depends on your need for the well. What would you be using it for? If just house water and yard irrigation, 30 gpm minimum would be sufficient.

I believe most water districts require new wells capable of pumping greater than 17 GPM to be metered and reports periodically filed. I have about a 4,500 SF home and feed about 20 head of livestock and irrigate about a half acre of yard (12 stations) and 17 GPM is entirely adequate, I do not have a pool.
