My daughter had to transfer away from A&M this fall, but already had a room in a townhouse leased along with four other young ladies.

The lease runs through the end of July 2024.

If any female students are looking for a room, we can sublet this room or simply change the lease, which we would prefer to do if possible.

Four bedroom newer town house, each room with a private bathroom, very close to the intersection of Texas and University.

Private parking.

Rent is $850 per month, and that includes utilities.

If interested, please text or call

I am amazed at rent prices in BCS. Good like finding a sublet!

Is the $850 for the whole enchilada or just 1 room sublet?

Just one room plus utilities, common areas, of course. And private parking and private bathrooms.

The 5th roommate isn't on the lease, so she pays the other 4 girls $100 a piece each month, bringing the effective rent down to 750

Interesting, why does she get to stay there for $400/mo?

My mistake, I should've said $170 per month.

Hers is a little less because her room is a study really, so no private bathroom, etc.

Breaking city code for no more than 4 unrelated occupants.

You have tried to c*nt up this thread from the very start. I'll never understand why disinterested parties feel the need to take a sh** on things. If you don't want the room, move along. To follow a thread for weeks only to make drive by negative comments tells me you are a husk of a person who lacks any real emotional connection in your life. I would feel sorry for you if I wasn't so gd annoyed by your negativity.

I don't know. I mean I'd appreciate knowing someone trying to sublet a room to me was breaking city code and what the risks (however small) associated with that may be.

It's a message board. You don't want to talk about the things around it post it in classifieds. Not a real estate discussion board.

And the rest of your comment was pretty ****ty, imo.

OK. I deleted a post above figuring I would get banned for it. So, I will tone it down and be a little nicer. I completely agree with you BCG. I have never understood why these Texags forums are full of such complete A-holes. The OP was just trying to figure out a roommate issue for his kid.

It really amazes me how many people on Texags act like complete d*cks.

I live very close to the south side of campus. The stealth tenants can ruin entire streets due to the excessive number of cars, traffic, noise, trash, etc.

How would feel if the house next door to you paved their backyard and had 8 students living in a 4 bedroom home? This happened on Thomas St. Said home is on a primarily owner occupied street. The landlord knows to have only 4 names on the lease to keep out of trouble with the city. There is another on Holleman like this too. I'm giving 2 examples within several blocks of my house.

That is the backstory to my comment. Rental homes owners need to follow city code for the number of occupants. And they need to have strong leases that allow immediate eviction of their tenants if they invite their friends to move in unbeknownst to an absentee landlord.

OP invited code related comments by admitting there was a ghost tenant in the home. This is a huge issue for College Station which they are trying to address with new occupancy overlays.

I grew up on Thomas St. in College Station. As a high school boy, I would have definitely been in favor of a house full of girls next door. Heck, living next door to college dudes would have provided another avenue to acquire beer. I feel like I really missed out on this new College Station.
