Just got word that Fidelity National Title was hacked last week and closings are not being finalized and funded. Chicago Title is who I am working with and under their umbrella.
If they don't come back online soon options are that can possible still close and move in to the new home or change the title company here soon.
Anyone else in this situation?

sounds like a terrible PITA.

Will likely be a lot smoother/faster to wait it out though. Going to a new title company would not be a quick process. Chicago also has the funds.

I'm caught up in this too.

I have a Seller with a loan under the Fidelity Umbrella that needs to close next week. That Seller is then set to close two days later on a purchase. If they delay too long, the Sellers of that house can't close on their new purchase.

If this doesn't get handled quickly, we're looking at delaying three closings, over one loan.

'Tis a mess.

I was able to close yesterday with Chicago Title in the Woodlands. Title said they came back online about an hour before. She did mention they are not fully up on all systems but confirmed my loan was funded yet they are not able to pay my agent yet.

This doesn't make sense to me. How could they have all funds to close but not be able to pay out realtor commissions? In every recession, we find out who has been out in the ocean swimming with no trunks on….Seems like a lot of hacking has been going on recently.

Maybe it's the money that's broke, not hacked

My closing team and preferred title company were absolute heroes through this nightmare and got all of the November closings still closed in November. We were all up super late, but we made it!

Keeping an eye on the treatment of 1031 funds that were pushed over their days limit because of this.

I closed (seller) on our house this week with Fidelity National. My funds were delayed but they could receive funds from our buyer. I got a paper check delivered to me on Friday after a Tuesday close.
