Sitting in my living room earlier and noticed a car stop in front of my house. The older couple in the car then pull their phones out and start taking pictures of my house.
I walk outside and ask what they are doing. They said their friend was looking for a place to rent, and my home appeared on Zillow yesterday for rent, so they drove over to take current pictures of my house to send to him. I politely, but firmly tell them the house is not for rent because I own it. They apologize and leave.
I get on Zillow, and sure enough, there's my house. Address was wrong by one digit (the address they used doesn't exist on this street) but it was my house. They used the listing photos from 3 years ago when I bought it. Claimed it was a fraudulent listing on the Zillow site, and it has now been taken off.
Does this happen often?
