I had a lower to mid level Lennar built about 15 years ago and really liked the home a lot. I was pretty nit-picky on the inspections along the way however, and hired a 3rd party home inspector to keep them honest. Money very well spent as they caught a number of items that could have been an issue over the next many years. By year 12 however, I had replaced the AC, dishwasher among other normal home maintenance items. I tried to take really good care of the home. I did have to replace the roof to sell the home, but that was more for insurance requirements for the new buyer than it was an issue with the roof.
I'm not sure I would go all in on a high value custom home with Lennar, but their starter mid grade stuff seems to be exactly what they are marketed to be.
